Traffic control administrator

jOB dESCRIPTION

The Traffic Control Administrator is responsible to coordinate and submit for all construction permits, traffic control plans or any other documentations required and have them available to construction teams to be able to proceed on scheduled projects.This person will serve as a point of contact for any information needed from Project Managers, Super-intendents, Foremen or sub-contractors to submit or extend any permits or Traffic Control Plans. They will work closely with all teams to assure required information is current on all projects, to be successful from the start and through closeout of each project.   

duties + responsibilities

Leadership

  • Gain a full understanding of our safety policies and promote our safety culture

  • Attend Safety and Professional Development Trainings

  • Continually provide oversight, mentorship, leadership to Traffic Control Designer and Traffic Technicians as needed

  • Responsible to ensure collaboration with production during preconstruction

  • Ensures that notifications are planned and ready to be distributed on time

  • Prioritizes tasks to achieve timelines required for project submittals including right of ways
     

Business

  • Develop an understanding of company policy and procedure to successfully contribute to improve production of traffic control and help maximize project profit margins within the scope of our work.

  • Assist in internal billing project cost to gain an understanding of the overall financial success of ViaSun

  • Be a liaison between public and ViaSun for community outreach on scheduled projects
     

Communication

  • Actively participate in weekly production or schedule meetings to exchange information on project needs or concerns

  • Work hand and hand with Project Managers, Engineers, other Administrators and Dispatcher to ensure successful project completion

  • Actively Participate in weekly team, production meetings and Precons when needed

  • Take calls from Inspectors on issues or concerns as it applies to permits on their projects and help resolve their concerns also calls from the public to answer questions on material, dates and logistics of our work.
     

Tasks/Technical

  • Apply for Right of Way permits in all municipalities

  • Responsible to ensure all Traffic Control Plans needed for projects are being done

  • Ensure that Traffic Management Policy and Procedures when requesting Right of Way permits & Traffic Control Plans per City or Municipality

  • Monitor Traffic Control Division Emails, Outlook Calendar and predetermined schedules for jobs needing permits and ensure all documents are received to be able to submit for the permits or scheduling

  • Submit traffic control plans, and documents required to proceed on the projects

  • Ensure access to approved Permits and TCP’s to all needed personnel to start the project

  • Confirm scheduled work and process notifications for residential projects

  • Accountable to make sure all clerical tasks needed to support traffic control operations are completed:

    • Work with Project team when a remote site yard is needed

    • Daily & Weekly job count reports

    • Consult and update Master Project Schedules per the direction of the Project Management Team with approved permit updates

    • Enter Daily and Weekly payroll time in HCSS and Job Count Sheets

    • Attend hand off project meetings needed to start/complete projects

  • Other duties as assigned

education + experience
  • 1-5 years of administrative experience

    • Traffic Control Construction Experience Preferred

    • ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor certification required

    • Able to acquire ATSSA Traffic Control Design Specialist

physical REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.

  • Must be able to work in the field when needed
