CDL driver

jOB dESCRIPTION

ViaSun Corporation is seeking a CDL Driver to join our rapidly growing team. The person
will be responsible for driving equipment and vehicles to and from and between job sites.

Essential FUNCTIONS

  • Drive required equipment and vehicles to and from and between job sites.

  • Perform pre and post-trip inspections with daily DVIR.

  • Perform general equipment maintenance and know when to report for repairs to Shop.

  • Weekly reporting of mileage.

  • Pulls a combination of trailers - hooking up and hauling.

  • Transporting, loading & offloading of equipment.

  • Perform other incidental and related duties, as assigned.

  • Self-motivated and have ability to work well with others in a team environment.

  • Meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

  • Take care of equipment and practice good housekeeping.

jOB rEQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 21 years old to drive company vehicles and operate company equipment.

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with clean driving record and DOT
    medical card. Tanker and/or other endorsements a plus.

  • Experience with all gear patterns capabilities 10 and 13 speed manual
    transmission (including automatic).

  • Proven commitment to Safety, Quality and Teamwork.

  • Previous construction equipment operation, preferred.

  • Reliable transportation

  • Willing and able to work on the ground with crew, when required.

  • Must possess or willing to acquire a DOT Medical card.

  • Pass pre-employment drug test.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

wORK eNVIRONMENT

This job operates in an outdoor environment which is subject to weather conditions and  the elements.

education + experience 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience.

physical REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and climb all day on
    your feet for long periods of time.

  • Must be able to frequently lift or move items up to 75 pounds.

  • Frequently stand and walk up to 90% of the day.

  • Exposed to a variety of extreme cold and hot weather conditions.
